Let's start cooking

Bismillah..

Assalamualaikum wm wb.

It's been several days now that the internet line has been very slow. I don't know if it is just my line or the whole area affected.

However, today I just want to share my recipe. That is for Asam Pedas, a sourish & slightly hot soup. Some people like to cook Asam Pedas with fish. But there are others who have tried differently.

So, let's get started.

Ingredients :
A.
250 gram dried chillies
300 gram onions
2 gram garlic
1/2 inch ginger
1/2 inch tumeric
(Grind all the above ingredients)
B.
50 gram prawn paste (dilute in water)
1 tsp black pepper
1tbsp salt
2 stalk bunga kantan
4 stalk daun kesum
1 tsp MSG or 1 tbsp sugar (if you wished to add)
1,500 ml tamarind (diluted water)
750 ml cooking oil

Heat up the cooking oil. Put in all of ingredients A (except for the chillies) & stir until you get that aromatic smell of fried onions & the colour turning golden.
Then put in all of ingredients B including the grinded chillies (except the diluted tamarind).

Once it is turning slightly dark red & you can see that the oil started to get separated from the ingredients, pour in the tamarind juice.

You may now add in 2 tomatoes cut in half (or any veg that you like) & 2 pieces of fish. Let it cook for another 10 minutes & your Asam Pedas is ready.

It's tedious right??? & it takes about 1 hour to get it done. However, if you want it to be easier to cook Asam Pedas, just use MyRoxxa Asam Pedas paste. All you need to do is...

Add 2 tbsp of MyRoxxa Asam Pedas paste & 1,500ml of tamarind juice into the pot. Put in the veg & fish. Heat up the pot. Once it is boiling.. means your Asam Pedas is ready to be served. Simple & saved time right??

Have fun... Conventional ways or MyRoxxa Asam Pedas paste. The choice is yours.
